Antonia "Toni" Samora Obituary
It is with deep sadness that I am letting our many friends and relatives know of the passing of my much loved and wonderful mother Antonia (Toni) Samora. Mom departed from this earth on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013.
Mother was born May 1, 1922, in Corona and raised in Carrizozo. In 1949, she married our father, Librado "Lalo" S. Coyazo, of Alamogordo. They eventually relocating to this area to start a new family.
From this union, two offspring were born: Lalo Coyazo Jr. (deceased) and myself, Noreen (Nora) Coyazo.
Mom was not only my mother, but was also my very best friend, as well. Always feeling young at heart, she never let her age or health get her down until the end of her precious life. Mom, you have always been a tremendous mentor and a great inspiration to me. Without a doubt, you will definitely be greatly missed by so many people who loved you.
At times, Mom loved to go the Inn of The Mountain of Gods in Mescalero to play the penny machines. Going out for lunch or dinner at her favorite eateries also would certainly make her day.
Mother is survived by myself, Noreen, who knew that she loved me dearly. She is also survived by an extended great family and many dear friends who had always remained special in her heart until the end of her precious life. I cannot forget to mention our family pet, Baby, our dog, who thought Mom was also her mama.
Without a doubt, we will always feel an emptiness and sadness that the head of our household will no longer be with us.
Family members, who preceded Mom in death include her parents Severo and Nestora Samora, whom she had always missed dearly; her beloved hijito (son) Lalo Coyazo Jr., who died in June 1954; Mom's brother and sister, Juan Sr. and Rosalio Saucedo; a very special nephew John (Mary) Saucedo and family; and the father of her children, Librado "Lalo" S. Coyazo Sr.
The rosary for Toni Samora will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church by Toni Gutierrez. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated following the rosary at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, by Father Mike Lindsay, celebrant.
Sweetie, it is so difficult to let you go now, yet I know that you are now pain-free and have certainly gone to a better place with our heavenly father.
Until we are together again, love you Mom. - Nora.
The family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
