Arletta Gwendoline (Wach) French Obituary
Arletta Gwendoline (Wach) French, 93, a longtime resident of Alamogordo, passed away Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, at her home in Alamogordo.
She was born Oct. 14, 1918, in Hayes Center, Neb., to Rudolph Alfred and Izola Anise (Green) Wach.
Arletta loved crafts of all kinds, including cryptograms and crossword puzzles. She was an avid reader and did craft work for the Little People School.
She is survived by her children Meridith Vernon French, of Oregon, Karen Raye French, of Alamogordo, George Thomas French, of Illinois, and wife, Pat, of Grants Pass, Ore., and Gary Delayne French, of Alamogordo; 16 grandchildren and seven bonus; 29 great-grandchildren and 12 bonus; and two great-great-grandchildren, Tyezen Lee Rodriguez, of New Mexico, and Brandon Bernard Bennett, of Florida.
She is also survived by her brother Del Wach and his wife, Judy, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and a bunch of friends and relatives from far and near.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; two brothers; her loving husband, George Thomas French (Dec. 25, 1920-March 30, 1978); two grandchildren, Kimberly Jeanne McFadden and Kalem French; and two great-granddaughters, Jessica and Katrina Dawn Gardner.
Memorial services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, at the Cuba Avenue Church of Christ, 1300 Cuba Ave., Alamogordo, with minister and family friend Al Maxey officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Arletta's name to Alamogordo Home Care and Hospice, 1859 Indian Wells Road, Alamogordo.
The French family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home. Cremation will take place at PCS.
