Arturo Arenas left this Earth to join our Heavenly Father on Thursday, June 8, 2017, in Keller, Texas. He was 88 years old. Arturo was born December 9, 1928 in Los Angeles, California to Matilde and Eloisa Arenas.

Arturo was a hard worker and a man of many talents. He joined the United States Navy at the age of 17 after graduating high school and was honorably discharged after serving his term. He then began working for the Civil Service at Holloman Air Force Base as a firefighter, he also co-owned a bar in Alamogordo with his Brother Viviano ""Birdie"" Arenas when he retired. However, those who know Arturo knew he would not be retired for long and so Arturo Arenas also worked at the Alamogordo Sheriff's Department as a jailer.

He married his wife Luz Arenas in 1957, and they raised 11 children. After retiring from the Sheriff's department in 1984 he moved with his wife Luz and the remaining children in the home to Truth or Consequences, New Mexico where he owned Arenas Appliances and worked for Bank of The Southwest as a Branch Manager.

He loved camping and looking for gold in the mountains. He was a talented self-taught musician, and played numerous instruments, but the saxophone was his favorite. He had an eternal love for his wife, children and grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his Parents Matilde and Eloisa Arenas, Brother Viviano Arenas, Sister Clara Ramirez, his sons Matilde Arenas and Andrew Arenas.

He leaves behind his wife of 60 years, Luz G. Arenas of the family home in Alamogordo, NM.
