Barbara Ann Dalton Brister Obituary
The Celebration of A Bright Star

On the night of February 28, 2017, our heavens received the brightest star of all – Barbara Ann Dalton Brister. She left an adoring family and an overwhelming network of friends. From her humble beginnings in Alamogordo, New Mexico, Bobbie touched the lives of thousands – from her classmates in Alamogordo to the thousands of students whom she poured into her love for English, literature, and theatre throughout Texas and New Mexico (Socorro, Magnolia, Tomball, The Woodlands, Odessa, El Paso and Las Cruces) to her dozens of Yoga friends who shared her passion of Iyengar Yoga.

BB left an indelible impression on her precious family members – Daughter Shelley Malone and husband Jackie, son James Brister, daughter Jolene Brister and husband Julio Rios, and grandsons Bryan, Connor and Parker Malone and Maximiliano Rios as well as her partner of many years, Ron MacWhorter. Her legendary parents, John A. and Eve Dalton, and the rest of The Dalton Gang (her late brother, Lt. Col. John F. Dalton and wife Cathy Dalton, nieces Heidi and Laurie Dalton, Sister Jolene and husband Wayne Maes, niece Dotty Nelson and nephew Tim Maes) had a lifelong impact on Bobbie.

We invite you to join in the Celebration of her life on the afternoon of July 24th (2pm) at The Sanctuary on the River in Ruidoso, NM, or by lighting a candle from wherever you may be and sending precious memories to the brightest star above. Should you wish, her family would be honored if you made a donation in her name to the "BB's Spirit Theatre Award" at Socorro High School. Your loving donation should be mailed to Socorro High School, Attn: Troy Hebort, 10150 Alameda Ave., Socorro, TX 79927.
