Beatrice Cecilia Newton Obituary
Cecilia has joined our Heavenly Father in the next chapter of her life. She was born and raised in Alamogordo, where she has always been involved in the restaurant business.
She was a mother to every single one of her siblings and a friend to many people in the community. She is missed and loved very much.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pedro Gonzales and Bennie Stogden Gonzales, and her husband, Robert L. Newton.
She is survived by her three children Leslie Kernohan, Sean Kernohan and Richard Kernohan, all of Alamogordo; five brothers and sisters, Mary Lou Bosshardt and husband, Don, of Montana, Patricia Dulany, of Alamogordo, Billy Gonzales and wife, Irene, of La Luz, Gene Gonzales and wife, Xenia, of North Carolina, and Gilbert Gonzales and wife, Cecilia, of Santa Fe; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church by Linda Villabisencio. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at the church following the rosary with Father Juan Montoya as celebrant.
Inurnment will follow at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery.
A reception will follow the services.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Beatrice's name to the Newton Crisis Center Fund at Western Bank.
The Newton family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements. Cremation will take place at PCS.
