Obituary Condolences

Betty Jeane Gustafson passed into the hands of God on Thursday, May 21, 2009, at her daughter and son-in-law's (son) home in Tularosa.
She was born in Seminole, Okla., on Oct. 11, 1927, to Roy F. and Cora I. Williams. Her family moved to Odessa, Texas, where she spent most of her childhood.
She worked as a bookkeeper until 2001, when she retired and moved to Kerrville, Texas.
She loved Kerrville and her friends at Rio Robles, whom she missed when she moved to Tularosa.
Betty's laugh and smile was infectious and will be missed by many. She was a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Gary Lee Stacy.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her daughter Diantha Veltmann and her husband, Clyde, of Tularosa; grandson David Bryant II and his wife, Athena, of Houston; granddaughter Brittany Boyd and her husband, Joey, of The Woodlands, Texas; her two precious great- granddaughters, Scarlett and Kiersten Bryant of Houston; her beloved sister Pauline Hammerschmidt of Kerrville; her niece Donna Bateman and her husband, John, of Horseshoe Bay, Texas; and numerous great nieces, great nephews and many friends.
A celebration of her life will be conducted at Sonlight Chapel in Center Point, Texas, on June 6, 2009, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Wes Weston officiating.
The family would like to thank Dr. William Pollard and his staff, the staff of Alamogordo Hospice and Casa Arena Blanca Nursing Center for their love and care of our mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.
In lieu of flowers donations should be sent in memory of Betty to Alamogordo Home Care/Hospice, P. O. Drawer 29, Alamogordo, NM 88311.
The Gustafson family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements. Cremation will take place locally at PCS.
