Betty Lynn "Woody" Smith went to meet her Savior on Feb. 6, 2014, after a long illness. Betty was born in El Paso, but resided in Alamogordo most of her life.
She is survived by her husband of 40 year, Frank "Bear" Smith, a daughter Nicole Smith and grandson Ashton Smith, all of La Luz.
Betty leave behind her sister Joyce Powell, of Alamogordo; brother Dewayne Smith (Sandy), of Alamogordo; sister Mary Louise and husband, Bob Kennedy, of Amarillo, Texas; sister Norma and husband, Jim Bonngard, of Alamogordo; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Betty Lynn loved tending to her family, music, arts and crafts, decorating and gardening as well as many other activities. She chose the field of cosmetology as her career in the work force and spent much of her time in that field.
There will be a graveside service at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15 at La Luz Cemetery. The service will be officiated by Wayne Bernard.
