Billy Button "Jean" Jones Obituary

Billy "Jean" Button Jones, 84, of Mountain Park, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2016, in Alamogordo, N.M. Jean was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on April 15, 1932, moved to San Antonio at 1 year, where she lived with her parents, J.D. and Minnie May Button, until she married Jack Jones on January 9, 1954. They lived in El Paso, Texas for 14 years before building a new home and moving to Mountain Park, where she was living at the time of her death. Jean attended Incarnate Word College in San Antonio, studying nursing. After her children were of school age, she worked for the U.S. Postal Service, at the post office in High Rolls, Mountain Park. Jean loved traveling, organic gardening, sewing and quilting. She was a master gardener and belonged to quilting clubs for many years. She had spent the last few years suffering, in pain, and unable to do these things that she loved so much.

Jean was predeceased by her husband Jack, on August 16, 2008.

She is survived by her sister Betty Davis; her children, Sheryl Kelly, Susan Baker (and Rick), Mike Jones (and Ami); her grandchildren, Brian Houghtalin (and Taryn), Steven Sullivan (and Rebekah), Jason Aragon, Meghan Aragon, Mykela Finnigan (and Bradley), Mari Segna, Frances Segna, Christopher Kayitah, Sheridan Jones, Logan Jones, and Shane Jones, her great grandchildren, Brayden and Abigayle Sullivan, Jaxon Houghtalin, and Grace Segna; numerous nieces and nephews, and her very special angel, Allie Galindo.

She will be missed.

A memorial service will he held on Saturday, September 17, 2016, details will follow.
