Bryan James Cullers Obituary
Longtime resident
It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved grandson, son, father, brother, uncle and friend. Bryan James Cullers was called home to the Lord on Thursday, May 14, 2009, in Alamogordo.
Bryan was born Sept. 21, 1968, in Kingwood, W.V., to Stephen and Catherine (Rogers) Cullers. He lived the best part of his life in Alamogordo, growing up around his friends and extended family. Bryan overcame challenges he suffered early on in life due to a car accident. He did so with determination to make the most of life, and the courage to face the daily tribulations. He touched the lives of numerous people in the short time he was with us. For more than 15 years Bryan was talented and creative with his skills in the drywall business. He was hardworking, loving, passionate and easygoing. He always said that his greatest sense of satisfaction and pride was his three children. The joys in his life were spending time camping, hunting and rivaling over football with his brothers, being a kid with the kids and playing an occasional softball game. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends. Bryan's strong will and warm heart will be cherished in our memories forever.
Survivors include his mother, Catherine Cullers, of Alamogordo; three children, Kristy, Kody and Lindsay Cullers, all of Heber City, Utah; his grandmother Charlotte Rogers, of Alamogordo; his longtime companion Crystal Bond and her sons Justin and Patrick, of Alamogordo; three brothers, Steve Cullers and his wife, Kath, and Todd and his wife, Kristi, all of Alamogordo, and Kevin Cullers, of La Mesa, Texas; an uncle, Joe Rogers, of Oklahoma City; and nieces and nephews Ryan Cullers and his wife, Vicky, of Houston, Mark, Chad, Trey, Dakota, Megan and Tyler Cullers, all of Alamogordo, and Marissa and Chelsea Cullers, of Woodland, Wash.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, May 18, 2009, at 1 p.m. at The Christian Church, 13th Street and Hawaii Avenue, with Pastor Richard Hicks officiating.
Interment will follow in Monte Vista Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Cory Purcell, Bobby Malett, Randy Arone, Rick Garman, Dave Guilmette, Fred Curtis, Jeremy Malett and Dave Alexander. Honorary pallbearers will be Vic Taylor, Gary Cannady, Gilbert Lucero, Mark Gentile, Chad Cullers, Justin Bond, Tony Chatwin and Tony Hunter.
Friends may call Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home.
Should friends desire, the family requests memorial contributions be made to First American Bank to help with expenses.
