Beloved husband, father and grandfather
Candelario G. Zamora, 86, of Alamogordo, returned to his maker in Heaven on Monday, Dec. 31, 2007. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. Candelario was born July 31, 1921, in Lincoln County. He proudly served in World War II in Italy. Candelario loved watching the Dallas Cowboys play football on TV and also loved eating peanut butter cookies.
He is survived by his beautiful wife of 62 years, Viola (Aguilar) Zamora; one daughter, Sally Sida; four sons, Charles Zamora and companion, Gloria Rodriguez, Willie Zamora, Candelario Zamora, Jr., and Sammy Zamora and wife, Eva, all of Alamogordo; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emilo and Clara Zamora; two brothers, Emilo and Roger Zamora; one sister, Angelita Cruz; a son-in-law, Joe Sida; one granddaughter, Esmeralada Zamora and one great-grandson, Christopher Barranca II.
A Rosary will be recited by Dolores Otero at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2008 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. with Father Bryant Hausfeld, O.F.M, celebrant.
Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery.
Family will greet friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday Jan. 3, 2008 at the Alamogordo Funeral Home Chapel.
Pallbearers include Joshua Sida, Ernesto Herrera, Christopher Barranca, Charles Zamora II, Willie Zamora Jr. and Floyd Zamora.
Honorary pallbearers include the remaining grandchildren.
