Carlos P Gutierrez Obituary
Carlos P. Gutierrez, 73, went to be with our Lord surrounded by his family on November 25, 2016 in Alamogordo, New Mexico. He was born in La Luz, New Mexico at his family home on July 14, 1943 to Faustino and Ramona (Pinones) Gutierrez.

Carlos graduated from Alamogordo High School in 1961. He earned his electronic technician certification and completed 1-year of college at New Mexico State University-Alamogordo. During his career, he worked for several government contractors as an electronic technician.

On January 9, 1965 Carlos married the love of his life Toni Lopez from Tularosa at the St. Francis de Paula Church in Tularosa, New Mexico. They were married for 51 years and had three children.

After retirement Carlos and Toni were fortunate enough to have traveled to Europe, the Caribbean, Alaska, and other states.
Carlos was a Cub Scout and Webelos Leader. He enjoyed playing pool, riding his Harley, and especially enjoyed dancing with his wife. He had a great sense of humor that he shared with everyone. He loved telling jokes and sharing stories and never hesitated to give his opinion whether warranted or not. He had an infectious smile and never met a stranger. He had two favorite football teams, the Pittsburgh Steelers and any team that beat the Dallas Cowboys.

Carlos was a man of strong faith and stayed true to his beliefs and values. He was very influential to many people throughout his lifetime.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Eugenio and Jose Salvador (Savy) Gutierrez.
Carlos is survived by his wife Toni, son Carlos L. Gutierrez, wife Janelyn, daughter Sandra Wilder, husband Lee, daughter Judy Campbell, husband Mark, and a very dear cousin, Corina (Quinones) Duran all of Alamogordo. Seven grandchildren; Amanda Ackerman, Markie Rowe, Carlos A. Gutierrez., Casey Campbell, Keith Wilder, Ciara Gutierrez, and Toni Wilder; three great grandsons; Amar Shabani, Joseph and Israel Ackerman; brother Horacio Gutierrez, two sisters; Eleanor (Nora) Malone, Patricia (Patsy) Sandoval and numerous sisters and brothers in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will greet friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on December 1, 2016 at the Alamogordo Funeral Home.
Rosary will be recited by Corina Q. Duran at St. Jude Parish on Friday, December 2, at 10:30 am with the funeral mass to follow, Father Theo Okator, O.F.M. officiating. Immediately thereafter, burial will be at Our Lady of the Light Catholic Cemetery in La Luz with reception to follow at the La Luz Community Center.

Pallbearers will be Octaviano (Odie) Duran, Charlie Reynolds, Lloyd Garcia, Savygene Gutierrez, G.L. Fuentes and Louis Sandoval. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Chance Coates, Andre Dorame, Anthony Gutierrez, Jeremy Valenzuela, Daniel Gutierrez, Orlando Sisneros, Ralph Maese, Andy Anderson, and David Prudencio.
