Claudie "Coop" and Virgie Thompson Cooper Obituary

Claudie "Coop" Cooper, 77, retired as a Master Sergeant of the United States Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was a longtime resident of Alamogordo and a contributing member of the Moose Lodge. Coop died peacefully at home with family surrounding him on August 20, 2015 after a long battle with Parkinsons.

His wife Virgie Thompson Cooper, 69, was the long time manager of Surplus City, was an avid bingo player, and enjoyed frequenting yard sales on weekends with friends and family, also died unexpectedly on August 21, 2015 in Alamogordo surrounded by family.

They are survived by their daughter, Denise Cooper Girard and husband Dan Girard; son, Danny Cooper and significant other Debra McWilliams; two grandchildren, Seth Hendrix-Cooper and Samantha Cooper.
Coop is also survived by his brother, Bill Cooper.
Virgie is survived by her aunts, Lou Roberts and Altie Hutchenson.

They were married for over 50 years and were blessed to leave this world together hand in hand. They are loved and will be missed dearly.

Per their wishes, there will be no public viewing or services.
