Cleo V. (Valdez) Hays Obituary

Cleo Valdez Hays was born on Sept. 3, 1939 and went to the Lord on March 22, 2016.

The impact she had on this world will be felt forever. Cleo was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law and friend. Her life was about helping others and making those close to her better people. Her biggest pleasure in life was simply being surrounded by family. Material items meant very little to Cleo. She always preferred a phone call or visit to a monetary gift and gave more than she ever received here on earth. Her treasures were her family and the devotion she had to our Lord. Earthly possessions are now replaced with the fortune she will be eternally granted in the kingdom of Heaven. We will forever miss the strength she has given this family. The pain that she has gone through is now healed as her soul has ascended into the loving arms of the Lord. As we make our journey through life, we seek comfort in the fact that we have a new Angel to guide us, an Angel with magnificent wings and two pain free legs to land on, one who will show us the path when we arrive. Her heart gave to others until it had no more to give.

All the tears shed are symbols of the love that we will always have for you. Your memory will forever be ingrained in our hearts and will look forward to the day that we once again can touch your beautiful face.

Cleo is survived by her husband, Bill Hays of 59 years, her four children, Teresa Hays, Susanna Ashe, Linda Sowell, and Billy R. Hays; six grandchildren, Jennifer Coyazo, Charlene Ashe, Kristi Clifford, Heather Ashe, Billy M. Hays, Ryan Hays, and Sean Hays; five great grandchildren, Daniel Coyazo, Aidan Coyazo, JoJo Coyazo, Promize Coyazo, and Stephen Clifford; two sons-in-law, David Ashe and Tony Sowell; one daughter-in-law, Lori Hays; one great son-in-law, David Clifford; and one great daughter-in-law, Andrea Hays.

We are all better people because you existed.
