Connie G. "Concha" Clark Obituary
Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandma and Big Nana

Connie G. Clark, 89, went home peacefully with the Lord on Wednesday, April 16, 2014. She was born on May 8, 1924, in Dona Ana to Telesfora Armijo (Garcia) Torres and Ruben Garcia.

Connie is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, Robert (Bob) Clark; her son, Levi G. Armijo; daughters: Mary (Helen) Garcia MacNeill and her husband Harry of Alamogordo, and Karen J. (Clark) Jones of Las Cruces; her three grandsons, Harry J. MacNeill Jr. and his wife Amanda; grandchildren, Daniel, Mykayla, and Harry James III of Las Cruces, Michael R. MacNeill of Alamogordo, and Julius I. Jones of Las Cruces, and one granddaughter, Janessa Clark of Long Beach, Calif. She is also survived by her brother David Garcia of Truth or Consequences; her brother-in-law, Richard Clark and wife Gloria of New York, and sister-in-law Linda Sue Manheardt of Tennessee, and her Uncle Timoteo Armijo of Truth or Consequences, along with numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends in Truth or Consequences and Alamogordo.

Connie was preceded in death by her children: Virginia, baby Armijo, Andy R. Armijo, Joe A. Armijo and her mother Telesfora A. Torres; and brothers, Leopoldo (Polo) Garcia & Henry (Fish) Garcia of Truth or Consequences.

Connie attended school until the sixth grade but she was employed as a nurses' aide at Carrie Tingley Hospital in Truth or Consequences. She then continued her education at St. Vincent's Hospital in Santa Fe. She graduated and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. Her profession led her to work with Dr. Rineheardt, Holloman Air Force Base Hospital and Gerald Champion Memorial Hospital. She was an excellent nurse and was well known for her compassion, dedication to her patients and her professionalism.

Our Mom was pretty straight forward with her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking and being there for her family when they needed her. She was very happy that she was able to care for her own mother, Telesfora, in her time of need. She took care of her with great love and compassion.

Mom, thank you for all your love & taking care of your family.

A memorial service celebrating Connie's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 24, at Alamogordo Funeral Home Chapel.
The Clark family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements. Cremation will take place at PCS.
