David Alan Lee Obituary
David Alan Lee went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Nov. 26, 2009. He was 82 years old. He is survived by a son, Joe Lee and his wife Carolyn Lee of Carrollton, Texas; a sister, Margaret Chouniard of Sacramento, Calif.; a daughter-in-law, Debi Lee of Alamogordo; grandsons, Jason Lee of Alamogordo, Jerod Lee, United States Navy, Darrell Lee and his wife Stephanie, United States Army; granddaughters, Janice Dixon and her husband Jim of Oxnard, Calif. and Becky Durrett and her husband Mark of Frisco, Texas.
David was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Lee in October of 1995 and his son, Jack Lee in October of 2002.
David was born May 24, 1927, in Santa Rosa, Calif. and attended public schools in Edmond, Okla. where he met the love of his life, Christine Ramsey. They were married on Oct. 17, 1946, and were together for 49 years until her death. David served in the United States Army and later had successful careers as a barber, owner of a bicycle shop, civil service employee and in 1981 opened "C & D Auto" in Alamogordo. He treated everyone like family and extended his generosity beyond his means. He was lovingly called "grandpa" by many and called friend by all who knew him. David was a faithful Deacon and raised his family to love the Lord.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church in Alamogordo on Monday, Nov. 30, 2009, at 11 a.m. It will be a celebration and "a memory of the righteous" (Proverbs 10:7a). "I lie down and sleep; I awake again because the Lord sustains me." (Psalm 3:5)
