David L. Burton Jr. Obituary

Retired Senior Master Sgt. David Lee Burton Jr. was born Sept. 1, 1940, in Gould, Ark., to Dave and Harriet Seaberry Burton. He left this life on Dec. 5, 2014.

Survivors include his loving wife, Helen; sons, David Lee Burton II of Atlanta, Ga., and Michael Burton of Suitville, Md.; stepson, James Coulter, Jr. of Carlsbad; daughters, Cynthia Gaines, of Alamogordo, Datriea Burton, Daniell Burton and Danita Burton, all of Baton Rouge, La; stepdaughter, Evelyn Coulter of Raleigh, N.C.; nephew, Kenneth Burton of Pine Bluff, Ark., and niece, Brenda Dixon of Des Moines, Iowa.

David proudly served 31 years in the U.S. Air Force. He was a deacon and member of Corinth Baptist Church. He loved the Lord, and watching sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys and Arkansas Razorbacks.

The family will greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 pm on Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014, at Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home.
The Funeral Service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, at Corinth Baptist Church with Pastor James Forney officiating.
Pallbearers are David L. Burton II, Michael Burton, Wardell Stokes, James Coulter Jr., Tommy Williams, and Jerome Holly. Honorary Pallbearers will be Charlie Smith, Johnny Smith and Charles Adams.
Burial will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery.

The Burton family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements.
