David Marshall Coker Obituary

David Marshall Coker, 23, passed away on Dec. 11, 2014 after a short but fierce battle with Wegeners Granulomatosis in Sierra Providence Medical Center with his family by his side in El Paso, Texas.

He was born on February 7, 1991 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Marshall and Beverly (James) Coker.
David graduated from Cloudcroft High in 2009 and was an avid sports lover. He went on to pursue martial arts and gained a certificate in teaching yoga. David loved life, and he was a teacher to many. He believed that the only thing you need in life is love. He had a strong Christian faith, and those that David had touched understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives.

Survivors include his parents, Marshall and Beverly Coker of Cloudcroft; his brothers, Zachary Coker of Albuquerque and Jonathan Coker of Cloudcroft; his sister, Megan Mickenzie Coker of Odessa, Texas; maternal grandparents, Zachary and Elizabeth James of Alamogordo; paternal grandparents, Don and Wanda Coker of Belen, New Mexico; a special cousin, Clinton Coker of Albuquerque and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other extended family members and friends.

Celebration of David's life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014 at Bethel Baptist Church with Jon Dowling officiating. Colorful clothing encouraged.
Should friends desire, contributions may be made by contacting Western Bank Alamogordo.

The Coker family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home to direct the funeral services. Cremation will take place at PCS. To sign the online register book, please visit
