Debra (Tyler) Saenz Obituary

Debra (Tyler) Saenz passed away on Sept. 2, 2014, in Las Cruces, leaving the love of her life, her husband and all her family members. She was born on July 17, 1951, the second eldest of 10 children of Ruth and Steve Tyler, deceased.

She is survived by and leaves behind their four children: Cheryl (Saenz) Grine and her husband Andrew; Jeremy Steven Saenz and his wife Rose (Zamora) Saenz; six grandchildren: Joshua Grine Vigil, Raeisa Grine, Alexxa Grine, Tristan Saenz, Jalen Saenz, and Abran Saenz. She is also survived by sisters Kathy (Brusuelas) Tyler, Patsy and her husband Nick Brusuelas; Vicky and her husband Kevin McKinney; Loretta and her husband Tom Bregler; Laura and her husband Andy Sainz; Brenda and her husband C.J. Yousif, and her brothers Ron Tyler, Steve Tyler, Lawrence and his wife Dorrie Tyler.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandmother Ophelia (Utter) Whitehead, and her older brother Fred "Ricky" Tyler.

Debra was called Debbie by all family and friends. She was a person who bore the burden of many illnesses in her life. However that did not diminish the love she had for her immediate family, siblings and friends.
Her main career in life was as wife and homemaker. She accepted and went through many moves in support of her husband. From the time of her marriage, she followed Ben to Iceland, Florida, several locations in New Mexico, such as Bent, La Luz, Roswell, Artesia and Albuquerque. They spent time in Denver, Colo., before settling in Las Cruces, where she resided until her death.
She thrived on family and friends. She managed to, at times, contribute entertainment, coaching and mentoring, caring for siblings and family even through her illnesses.
The family had a saying: if you needed anything ask Debbie. She usually had it.

Cremation, in accordance with her wishes, will be handled by Alamogordo Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church in Tularosa.
Honorary pallbearers include her son-in-law Andrew Grine and her grandchildren Joshua Grine, Raeisa Grine, Tristan Saenz, Alexxa Grine, Jalen Saenz and Abran Saenz.

The Saenz family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct services.
