Diane A. Miller Obituary

Diane A. Miller went to be with the Lord on Monday October 26, 2015. She was born in Alamogordo on February 11, 1942 to Leo and Margarita Aubel.

Diane was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She had several hobbies including baking, quilting, and working on construction projects. What she enjoyed most was cooking for her family and friends.

Diane was admired by her children for all her accomplishments. She was a strong Christian woman and awesome role model. Her grandchildren appreciated the unconditional love and generosity she always expressed. The great grandchildren enjoyed playing games and doing special projects with her.

The time she spent with her best friends was very dear to her. They enjoyed shopping trips, movies, crafting, quilting, dining out, and sharing memories of the past.

Diane worked at the Alamogordo Public Schools as a secretary for thirty years. She began at Head Start on Maryland Avenue, moved to Sacramento Elementary School, transferred to Holloman Elementary and then retired from La Luz Elementary. She was a member of the La Luz Bible Church.

She is survived by sister Ruth Coughlin of Alamogordo, brothers Samuel (Jane) Aubel of Alamogordo, Gilbert (Michelle) Aubel of Santa Fe, and Leo (Barbara) Aubel of Lincolnshire, Ill.; children, Rita and Dwayne Guillot, Gonzalo and Lynn Estrada of Alamogordo, Margaret and Rudy Calderon of Lubbock, Texas, and Leo and Diane Estrada of Las Vegas, Nev. She had 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Leo and Margarita Aubel, father of her children Gonzalo Estrada Sr., second husband Eugene Miller, son Willie Estrada, grandsons DJ Guillot and Isaac Calderon.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m., Friday October 30, 2015 at Alamogordo Funeral Home Chapel.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Friday October 30, 2015 at Alamogordo Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ron Tyson officiating. Burial will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery.
Pallbearers include: Pat Coughlin, James Wilson, Estevan Nieto, Marcos Serna, Jose Ruiz, and David Ochoa.

The Miller family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the services.
