Don Bradley Sudderth Obituary
Don Bradley Sudderth went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011. Don was born in Clovis to Lee H. and Blanche Daniel Sudderth. Don married his first and only love, Danita Rose Gaines, on Aug. 23, 1955.
After farming in the Bovina/Farwell area for 24 years, Don sold the farm and moved the family to the Alamogordo area in January 1978 to build a Western Sizzlin Steakhouse. During his 21 years in Alamogordo, he built four restaurants in New Mexico and four restaurants in Oklahoma. He co-owned Coldwell Banker's Real Estate offices in Alamogordo, Las Cruces and Ruidoso.
Always an adventurer, Don earned his pilot license and flew his Piper Archer airplane over New Mexico and Oklahoma to check on restaurants. Don established and supported numerous churches and missions. Upon retirement, Don went to work for SCI Resthaven in 2003.
Don was a loving husband and adoring father with a witty outgoing personality, warm smile and a love for life and Jesus Christ. Don was preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers, five sisters and one great-grandson. He is survived by his wife, Danita Rose "Sweet Thing"; four daughters, Pam Sheehan (George), of Midland, Texas, Rhonda Cruddas (Ron), of Lubbock, Texas, Sharon Corum (Giles), of Humble, Texas, and Donna Wallace (Leon), of Athens, Texas; a sister, Frances Hodges, of Tulia, Texas; a brother, Melvin Sudderth, of Estes Park, Colo.; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
