Donna Wilson Obituary
Donna Wilson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, left our world to be with God on Sunday, May 22, 2011.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Mamie (Brooks) O'Neal.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Edgar; daughters Loretta Wolf and husband, Dave, and Jennifer Rios and husband, Jaime; and grandchildren Scott, Mercedes and her daughter Klarissa, Brian, Jaime and Rhiannon, all of Alamogordo. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters Mike O'Neal and wife, Inky, of Madison, Ind.; Pam Sturgeon, of Plainview, Ind.; Rick O'Neal and wife, Sherry, of Madison, Ind.; Patty McClure and husband, Mark, of Madison; and Kevin O'Neal and partner, Greg Jewell, of Louisville, Ky., as well as several nieces, nephews and friends, all whom she loved very much.
Donna was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church, where she was on the Endowment Committee and involved with the United Methodist Women's Organization.
She worked for the New Mexico State Police as district secretary for 15 years before retiring in July 2010.
A celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2011, at Grace United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mary Taken officiating. Interment will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Scott Torrey, Brian Mirabel, Jaime Rios, Butch Ephraim, Bobby Richardson and Mike Elliott. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike O'Neal, Rick O'Neal and Kevin O'Neal.
The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2011, at the Alamogordo Funeral Home chapel.
Donna was loved by and will be missed by many.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Otero Community Cancer Center, 2559 N. Scenic Drive, Alamogordo, NM 88310.
The Wilson family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
