Dorothy E Pryor Obituary

Dorothy E. Pryor, age 76, of Dexter, NM who wanted to go go go and she did until her passing on Friday, November 4, 2016, after living a very full life.

Memorial services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, November 12, 2016, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1800 23rd Street in Alamogordo, NM.

Dorothy E. Pryor was born May 5, 1940, to Henry F. Walker and Hazel Alma Wood-Walker in Utica, NY. She married Roy A. Walton on August 8, 1957, in Utica, NY. While married to Roy, she traveled to Little Rock, AR., England, France, and New Jersey.

They moved to Saginaw, MI upon Roy's retirement from the Air Force where they continued to raise their five daughters and baby son. Due to Roy's declining health, they moved to Roswell, NM, in 1977. When Dorothy married John Pryor, they started in Rio Rancho, NM, then moving to Upstate New York, and Roswell, NM. Dorothy continued to travel back to Upstate New York and Mesa, AZ., before settling in Alamogordo, NM. Being diagnosed with cancer in late 2015, she made her last move to Dexter, NM to be closer to her daughters for the biggest fight of her life.

Preceding her in death were her parents: Henry F. Walker and Hazel Alma Wood-Walker; her first husband, and father of all her children Roy A. Walton; her second husband, John Pryor; her sisters, Pat and Deborah; and her brother, Frank.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters: Royce Ward of Bay City, MI; Starr Roybal and her husband Robert of Roswell, NM; Wendy Trujillo and her husband Florentino of Albuquerque, NM; ChrisAnne Bell and her husband Billy of Dexter, NM; DeAnna Yazzie of Albuquerque, NM; and son, Henry Walton and his wife Mary Lou of Alamogordo, NM; 25 grandchildren, Micah Ward, Ray Ward, Kiel Ward, Nicholas Ward, Matthew Rubbo, Nicole Moore, Jason Moore, Duane Francis, Christopher Roybal, Stephanie Roybal, Justin Roybal, Eric Jackson, Robert Jackson, Jr., Georgina Andrews, Joel Trujillo, Florentino Trujillo, Jr., Dominique Trujillo, Sarah Bell, Roy A. Bell, Kevin Yazzie, Brandon Yazzie, Hunter Yazzie, Jarad Yazzie, Summer Waites, and Henry Walton, Jr.; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and took great comfort in her faith. A.A. was an important part of Dorothy's life and was there for her during this earthly journey. She was very happy with the life she lived and thankful for her family and friends.
