Edward George Grabman Obituary
Edward George Grabman, 73, longtime Alamogordo resident, passed away Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010. He was born Sept. 5, 1936, to Ted and Berniece Grabman in Rochester, Mich. Ed graduated from Michigan State University in 1959. He served for 21 years in the U.S. Air Force as a fighter pilot, retiring as a lieutenant colonel. He then continued flying and management activities with Flight Systems Inc. for 17 years. After retirement, Ed and his wife traveled in their RV extensively to all 50 states and throughout Canada.
Ed was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and served on the Endowment Committee and Administrative Board. He was a member of United Methodist Men, Military Officers Association of America and the Tularosa Basin Historical Society.
He is survived by Jean, his wife of nearly 50 years; daughter Cindy and husband, James Livers, of Alamogordo; son Ed and wife, Shari Grabman, of Wichita, Kan.; grandchildren Joshua, Jared and Jenna Livers, of Alamogordo, and Ryan Grabman, of Wichita, Kan.; and sister Eunice McClelland, of Lake Orion, Mich.
Funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010, at Grace United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tom Richardson, the Rev. Jack Moffatt and the Rev. Bruce Abbott officiating.
Interment will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery with military honors provided by the Holloman Air Force Base Steel Talons Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be Jim Abbott, Dick Anderson, Will Beacht, Richard Kondo, Joshua Livers, Jared Livers, Leighton O'Quinn and Lou Sandoval. Honorary pallbearers are the members of Grace UMC Joy Sunday school class.
Memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Church Endowment Fund, 1206 Greenwood Lane, Alamogordo, NM 88310.
