Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister
Elois E. Lundie, 85, passed away Wednesday Jan. 9, 2008, at a local hospital. Elois E. Lundie was born Aug. 9, 1922, to Walter and Ola Jones in Lingleville, Texas. Following high school graduation in 1941 at Wink, Texas, she worked at nearby Pyote Air Force Base. There, she fell in love with Edward L. Lundie and they got married May 10, 1947.
Seven years later they were transferred to Altus, Okla. In 1958 the family moved to Alamogordo, where Elois worked as secretary to the chief of North Range Radar Branch at King 1, Holloman AFB. At retirement, they moved to Denison, Texas, and lived there from 1976 to 1993, later returning to live in Mountain Park. In 2001 they moved from the mountains to Alamogordo.
During her wonderful years of retirement, Elois enjoyed RVing around the country, and two trips overseas. She also volunteered at the senior center in Alamogordo and enjoyed painting.
Elois Lundie is survived by her husband of 60 years, Edward Lundie Sr., of Alamogordo, one son, Edward Lundie Jr. and wife Carolyn, of California; one daughter, Sheila Bouten and husband Greg, of Alamogordo; one sister, Lavoise Donnell, of Abilene, Texas; one granddaughter, Brook Haines, husband Todd, and great-grandson Connor, of Rio Rancho.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Ola Jones, and brothers Claburne Jones and Doyle Jones.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008, at the Church of Christ on 13th Street and Cuba Avenue with Pastor Al Maxey officiating.
Interment will follow at the Monte Vista Cemetery.
Family will greet friends from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2008, at the Alamogordo Funeral Home Chapel.
