Emily Shea Solis (Lozano), 30

Emily Shea Solis (Lozano), 30, passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2010, at Ft. Benning, Ga. She was born on February 11, 1980 in Albuquerque, NM to David and Trish (Armijo) Lozano.

Emily will always be known for her exuberant personality, charming smile and caring touch.

She served proudly and honorably as an Administrative Specialist in the United States Army for five years and was awarded numerous awards and commendations. Her assignments were Germany, Kosovo and Fort Bliss.

Survivors include her husband, Ricardo Solis of Chicago, currently stationed in Ft. Benning, GA; her parents, David and Trish Lozano of Alamogordo; mother-in-law, Evelyn Solis of Chicago; father-in-law, Jorge Solis and wife, Deirdre, of Chicago; sisters-in-law, Angela and Samantha Solis of Chicago; grandparents, Jubal and Minerva Seise of Tempe, Ariz.; brother, Jared Scott and wife, Marybeth, of Flagstaff, Ariz.; brother, Chad Lozano of Scholfield Barracks, HI; sister, Amber Lozano of Albuquerque; grandmother, Jovita Guadalupe Lozano of Canon City, Colo. and numerous family members and friends throughout the United States and abroad.

She was preceded in death by grandfather, Lorenzo Lozano and grandparents, Geronimo and Emma Armijo and other close family members.

Public viewing will be held from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, July 18, 2010 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rosary following at 7 p.m. recited by Carmen Guitard.

Mass of The Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Monday, July 19, 2010 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Bryant Hausfeld, O.F.M., Celebrant.

Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery with a reception following at the church parish hall.

The family has asked that everyone attending the funeral to please wear a white top to celebrate her joyful life.

The Solis family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct funeral services.
