Ende V. Lara, 81
Ende V. Lara, 81, died Friday, Oct. 1, 2010, in Alamogordo.
Ms. Lara was born Oct. 12, 1928, in Alpine, Texas. She was a longtime resident of Alamogordo where she attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. To many people she was known as ""the bakery lady,"" having worked for many years at the Royal and Mity Nice Bakeries until her retirement.
Survivors include one daughter, Laura Herrera, and husband, Pasqual, of Alamogordo; two granddaughters, Lynnette Herrera, of El Paso, and Selina Herrera, of Tucson, Ariz.; four brothers, Pete Valenzuela Jr., Charlie Valenzuela and Jerry Valenzuela, of Alamogordo, and Henry Valenzuela, of El Paso; three sisters, Elisa Leyva, of Alamogordo, Delia Soria and husband, Tony, of Albuquerque, and Lucy DuVall, of Tucson; an aunt, Gregoria ""Golla,"" of Hobbs; numerous nieces and nephews; a special cousin, Olga Garcia; and numerous other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents Pete Valenzuela Sr. and Lucia Valenzuela and a brother, Roberto Valenzuela.
A rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church by Estella Valle.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated following the rosary at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, by Father Bryant Hausfeld, O.F.M., as celebrant.
Inurnment will follow in Holy Angels Cemetery in Alpine, Texas.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the service time at the church.
The Lara family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home to direct the arrangements. Cremation will take place locally at PCS.
