1942 - 2015 Obituary Condolences
Evelyn Faye Giampietro Obituary

Evelyn Faye Giampietro, 72, was called home on August 24, 2015 after a courageous battle with an extended illness. She spent her final days in peace, surrounded by her daughters and grandchildren.

Evelyn was born December 7, 1942, in Nashville, Georgia to A.C. and Effie Avery. After her marriage in 1959, she spent the next 31 years serving as a military spouse. Dominick and she traveled across the world together with their three daughters. In 1980, the family arrived at Holloman AFB where they spent the remainder of their military career. Evelyn dedicated her life to her children as well as pursuing other occupations; including serving as a dental assistant, working Alamogordo Public Schools, and Home Services at Chenega.
After retirement, Evelyn dedicated her spare time to her grandchildren which she loved dearly, as well as spent the last few years in the California Bay Area where she spent quality time with family and made many new friends that will miss her greatly.

Evelyn was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother; the matriarch of three generations! Her family was her proudest accomplishment and she dedicated her life to teaching them how to be good, successful and caring people.

Evelyn is survived by her daughters and son-in-laws, Diana Giampietro (Williams), Sunnyvale, CA; Deborah and David Messier, La Veta, Colo.; and Tracy and Jason Dupont, Alamogordo, N.M. Her grandchildren: Kelly Vierra, Amanda Williams, Reece Williams, Kalyn Massey, Dylan Schultz, Jami Dupont, Cierra Dupont, and Melana Dupont. Her Great Grandchildren: Desiree, Ava, and Kira. Sisters and spouses: Nellie and Richard Regis, and Pearl Woodford. Her brother and spouse: Carson and Elvie Avery, a special niece, Lorrie Weidlich Symons, and many more nephews, nieces, and friends.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Dominick Emil Giampietro, her Father and Mother, Sister: Marie Snyder, and Brothers: Henry Wilson and Leroy Wilson; and Grandson, Jarret Williams.

Those who were blessed to know Evelyn will tell you she was strong, courageous, loving, kind, generous, soft spoken, fearless, and caring women: A True Beauty (from the inside out). And, always ready for a game of Mexican Train.
She will be deeply missed.

The Family extends invitation to all Friends to attend Graveside services at Monte Vista Cemetery on Thursday, September 3, 2015, at 3 p.m.

The Giampietro family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral home to direct the services.
