Evelyn Trammell Obituary
Evelyn Trammell, 79, of Tularosa passed away in Alamogordo.
She was born to Houston and Lucille Marr on Jan. 6, 1933, in Tularosa. She married the love of her life, Allen (Bill) Trammell, Jan. 27, 1952, and they had five children, Sharon Bednorz and husband Don, Melvin Trammell and wife Jo Lynn, Arlene Rowland and husband Tim, Neal Trammell and wife Cricket and Nilda Douglas and husband Clifton.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one child, Neal.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Bill Trammell; two brothers, Don Marr and Gerald Marr of Tularosa; four children; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Evelyn spent most of her life in Tularosa, graduating from Tularosa High School's old red brick building in 1950 and from NMSU in 1980. She taught school in the Tularosa School system for over 25 years. She impacted many lives in the small community of Tularosa as a school teacher and through her volunteer work. Some of those activities include 4-H leader, the Red Brick Building Restoration Foundation Inc., the Tularosa Village Historical Society and her church involvement. She was a Proverbs 31 woman.
Memorial services will be held at 11 am, Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, at BLT Farms covered arena; 51 Sioux Trail; west Tularosa with Pastor Robert G. Smith officiating.
The memorial service will be a shared service with her son, Neal Trammell.
