Fern Ilene (Satterberg) Zaremba Obituary

Fern Ilene (Satterberg) Zaremba, 96, passed away on March 8, 2015, in Alamogordo.

She was born in 1918 to Werner and Hazel Satterburg in Manitowoc Wisc. She was a dance teacher in her 20s and played the accordion and the organ throughout her life. She loved the arts, music, animals, and polka.
Fern was a faithful servant to God as a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Alamogordo, and her family was very important to her. Her friends and neighbors from her apartment complex made sure that she knew how special she was to them every year on her birthday. She will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Zaremba, her adopted son Jerome Cokley, her sister Virginia and her brothers Adolph and Werner (Buddie).

She is survived by her stepdaughters, Joanne Siegel of Michigan and Sandra Foster of Texas, her grandson Dan Seigel also from Michigan, and many nephews and nieces -- including: Jeff Satterburg of California, Dolphine Nichol of Massachusetts, Fran Wightman of Michigan; Mary Lou Martin of Missouri, Bob Satterburg and George Satterburg of Nevada, Debbie Satterberg of Oklahoma, and Noreen Flook, C.L. Satterburg, John Satterburg, all of Wisconsin.

Memorial donations to the , the ASPCA or the American Macular Degeneration Foundation (which she supported in life) would be appropriate.

In her memory, a recitation of the Rosary will take place on March 28, 2015, at 9:15 a.m. in the chapel at St. Jude Catholic Church, followed by a funeral mass at 10 a.m. and simple reception.
