Fernando Lorenzo Rodriguez Obituary
Fernando Lorenzo Rodriguez, 46, passed away Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, in Alamogordo. He was born Aug. 10, 1965, in Tularosa to Juan and Maria Rodriguez, of Alamogordo.
He was preceded in death by his father, Juan, and younger brother Salvador Rodriguez. He will be missed dearly and remembered with great fondness.
Fernando is survived by his loving wife of five years, Sheryl Rodriguez; mother-in-law Donna Quast and her husband, Jack, of Alamogordo; sister-in-law Martha Vera, of Kansas; brother-in-law Steven Britton and his wife, Florinda, of North Carolina; Fernando's loving mother, Maria Estella Rodriguez; brothers Alberto Gonzales and his wife, Sylvia, Juan Rodriguez and his wife, Dawn, Jesus Rodriguez and girlfriend, Liza Rodriguez, and Jose Antonio Rodriguez; and sisters Phyllis Rodriguez and her husband, William Romero, and Leticia and her husband, Gregory Gabaldon, all of Alamogordo, and Maria Rodriguez and her husband, William Rodriguez, of Texas.
Fernando worked five years for the Alamogordo Public Schools as a custodian and previously worked in the moving and transferring business for many years. He will be remembered for his charm and the love he showed his many nephews and nieces. He loved them all greatly and never failed to show his compassion. Fernando's love and kisses never went unnoticed.
Fernando was a fan of Bruce Lee and loved the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was a familiar sight on his bike around the Alamogordo area.
The rosary will be recited by his sisters Phyllis Rodriguez and Leticia Galbaldon at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated following the rosary at 11 a.m.
Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Alberto Gonzales, Juan Rodriguez, Mario Rodriguez, William Romero, Jose Rodriguez, Victor Rodriguez, Casey Rodriguez and Jesus Rodriguez. Honorary pallbearers include William Rodriguez, Gregory Gabaldon, Matt Jackson, Jose Antonio Rodriguez, Jack Quast and Steven Britton.
The family will greet friends from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the church before the rosary.
The family requests Pittsburgh Steelers attire or casual dress.
The Rodriguez family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
