Fred Lloyde Parker Obituary

Fred Lloyde Parker, 88, of Alamogordo, N.M., died on Friday, Sept. 16, 2016.

He was born on Jan. 18, 1928, to Richard W. (Sox) and Goldie Trammell Parker. He leaves his wife of 63 years, Edna Louise (Waller) Parker, they were married in Tularosa, N.M. His sister Velda Black of Alamogordo, N.M.; his daughter Karen (Steve) Cunningham, of Las Cruces, N.M.; his son Gary Lloyde (Sherri) Parker of Chandler, Ariz.; his daughter Robin (Sammy) Salazar of Bent, N.M.; daughter Ronda Norfleet of Las Cruces, N.M.; nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends.

In his early years, Fred Lloyde graduated from Weed High School in 1946. After graduating from high school he worked for the US Forrest Service, the family dairy in Tularosa, Trammell Dairy with some cows of his own. He was drafted to the Army in 1954 and when he came back he worked for the City Dairy for 15 years. He retired from Texas New Mexico Power Company in 1992 with Louise to spend time together with family and friends.

Fred Lloyde was a story teller all his life and loved telling about the times growing up in Sacramento Mountains and adventures in his life. He helped Otero County 4-H youth with their livestock projects. Dancing was a huge passion for Fred Lloyde for many years. After retirement, traveling on Family Reunion Tours kept him busy. Fred Lloyde was a member of Elks Lodge 1897 in Alamogordo.

Fred Lloyde is preceded in death by Dixie Parker Simpson, grandson Sean Cunningham, son-in-law Steve Cunningham, and son-in-law Sammy Salazar.

Memorial services will be on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016, at 10:00 a.m., at Alamogordo Funeral Home Chapel, 2301 First Street, Alamogordo, NM.
