Gabriel Michael Esquero Obituary
Gabriel Michael Esquero, 28, of Alamogordo, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2012, in El Paso. Gabe was born Aug. 3, 1983, to Michael and Norma (Martinez) Esquero.
Gabe attended Alamogordo High School and graduated in May 2002. After graduation, he attended New Mexico Junior College in Hobbs on a baseball scholarship. He then returned home to Alamogordo and began his electrical career in 2004 while studying at New Mexico State University.
Gabe and his wife, Bridgette, met in 2002. They were married Sept. 21, 2007. The couple was blessed with three beautiful children: Daytona Hope, 7; Ayden Joseph, 4; and Bristol Faelynn, 19 months.
In early 2008, Gabe enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served his country with honor in Afghanistan from 2008-09 as an 88m truck driver.
Gabe's hobbies included his love, baseball, and coaching his children in soccer, basketball, baseball and life. He also liked to play softball and other sports with the boys. He enjoyed hunting with his dad, brother, grandpa and son. He also enjoyed fishing, snowboarding and umpiring Little League. He always stayed very involved.
Gabe is survived by his wife, Bridgette; daughters Bristol and Daytona and son Ayden; parents Michael and Norma Esquero; brother Corey Esquero; grandparents Juan and Lydia Esquero; grandfather Joseph Martinez; aunt Melissa Esquero and her fiancé, Ronny Huckabee, and his two children; uncle Dwain Martinez and his three girls; aunt Dawnette Pacheco and her husband, Freddie, and their son; and many other family members, friends and teammates.
Gabe was preceded in death by his grandmother Corine (Apodaca) Martinez.
The rosary will be recited for Gabe by his uncle Freddie Pacheco at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 705 Delaware Ave., Alamogordo. Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 10 a.m. with Father Juan Montoya as celebrant.
Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery.
The Esquero family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
