Gary John Stansfield Obituary
Gary John Stansfield, of El Paso, and formerly of La Luz and Alamogordo, has taken his final ride on his Harley, riding off into the sunset. He died Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, at the age of 62 at home with his immediate family by his side.
Gary was born in Oakland, Calif., on July 18, 1950, the son of the late Betty J. Stansfield and George E. Stansfield.
He was a 1969 Alamogordo High School graduate. Gary was a construction materials testing manager for Encon International. In his earlier years, he was a forest firefighter in Capitan for the Lincoln National Forest and fought fires throughout the country. Gary was an avid enthusiast of Harley Davidson motorcycles and was known for the choppers he built using Harley parts. He was a great loving father to his children and will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his son Gary Josuah Stansfield, of El Paso; daughter Kimberly J. Jellison, of Chesapeake, Va.; grandchild Tenise Madelon Stansfield; sisters Barbara House, Dalyne Daugherty and Terry Hutson; and brother Norman Heath.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, at 9 a.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 5054 Doniphan Drive, El Paso.
