Geneva Lois Warren Hanson Ernest
Geneva Lois Warren Hanson Ernest lived her life as a loving wife, cherished mother, adoring grandmother and great-grandmother, as well as a caring sister and faithful and loyal servant of her Lord Jesus Christ.
Geneva was born Jan. 16, 1929, in Molene, Texas and has lived in Texas, Ariz. and New Mexico.
She is survived by her husband William A. Ernest of Weimar, Texas; Children Don V. Hanson, Jr. of Smithfield, Va., Cathrine Rose Hanson of Sterling Heights, Mich., and Ella Christian Matlock of Gonzales, Texas; a brother, Norvel Warren of Atascodera,Calif.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three stepsons, Lawrence Ernest, Galen Ernest; both from out of state, and Darrell Ernest Schulenburg, Texas; and four step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, the Rev. Don V. Hanson Sr.; her son Billy Giles Hanson Baughman; her parents; and a brother.
Geneva will be laid to rest in Alamogordo where she lived up until the last five years when she relocated to live in Weimar, Texas to be near her daughter.
Viewing will be held Tuesday, March 15 from 5 until 7 p.m. at Hamilton O'Dell Funeral Home 1334 N. Scenic Drive.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 16, 10 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church.
Interment will follow in Monte Vista Cemetery.
The family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
