Genoveva (Sandoval) Flores Obituary
Genoveva Sandoval Flores died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010, in her home after a short illness. She was born March 21, 1933, in LaPasada.
In 1954, she married Alberto T. Flores in Pecos, then moved to Alamogordo, where she spent life building her family and a wealth of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Telesfor and Rosalia Sandoval; husband, Alberto; son Telesfor; grandson Ruben VanHecke; and siblings Tobias, Placidio, Ruperto, Tane, Juanita, Lorenzo, Telesfor and Natividad.
Genoveva is survived by sons Isfrain Flores, Alberto Flores and his wife, Tiffany, and Antonio Sandoval and his wife, Tiada; daughters Marcella M. Gage and her husband, Richard, Rebecca M. Gage and her husband, Charles, Rosalia A. Dubash, Claudina C. Smith and her husband, Steve, Bernadette V. Flores and Nea Marie Sandoval; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren, with one on the way.
Genoveva also left behind those she dearly loved as her own children. They are Margaret Cordova, Stormy Hernandez, Larry November, Dan Fitzgerald and Mark Dubash.
Genoveva attended the New Mexico School for the Visually Handicapped, now known as the New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired, was a cheerleader and an athlete worthy of Hall of Fame honors.
She prayed the rosary faithfully every day for everyone she loved. She loved sitting on the swing under her tree with her dog Thraz.
Genoveva's heart was vast and her home was open to everyone.
