Gladys D. Kreusch Foster Obituary
Gladys D. Kreusch Foster went to be with the Lord on Sept. 10, 2011, in Santiago, Chile, South America. She was a devoted mother of six children, a loving wife, and a caring grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
Born to Adolph and Victoria Brand Kreusch on Sept. 25, 1921, she was the last surviving member of her family. Most of her life was spent in western New York, her childhood in Sherman, N.Y., and her married life to her beloved husband, Leo M. Foster, in the Jamestown, N.Y., area. The last 25 years of her life she thoroughly enjoyed in Alamogordo.
She leaves to cherish her memory her six children: L. David Foster, of Sink Springs, Pa., Patricia A. Miller, of Kennedy, N.Y., Linda L. Cross, of Santiago, Chile, Daniel G. Foster, of Marathon, N.Y., Lisa K. Anderson, of Jamestown, and James L. Foster, of Sinclairville, N.Y.
Her giving, caring spirit touched the lives of all those around her as she devoted her life to her family and serving others. She was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church of Alamogordo, where her presence and love were always visible. Her last seven months of serving the Lord was with her daughter, a missionary in Santiago, Chile, where she faithfully reflected Christ to the world.
Her crocheted afghans will be treasured by all who received these acts of love. Her funeral took place with her new friends in Santiago.
After cremation, her remains will be interned next to her husband in Jamestown.
