Obituary Condolences

Gladys Idalene Scott, a longtime resident of Alamogordo, died Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at Good Samaritan Society, Betty Dare.
Mrs. Scott was born Aug. 16, 1908, in Topeka, Kan. Her parents were Samuel S. and Winona Eleanor Ferguson. 
Mrs. Scott graduated from Washburn High School and attended Washburn College and Strickler's Topeka Business College. She worked in Washington, D.C., prior to her marriage July 24, 1938, to Robert M. Scott, of Waukegan, Ill. They retired in 1974 and moved to Alamogordo in 1977, where he preceded her in death in 1993.
Mrs. Scott was a lifelong member of the Episcopal Church and was an active member of Daughters of the King and the Alter Guild of St. John's Church in Alamogordo. She was a 50-year member of Alamo Chapter No. 11, Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include her son, Robert F. Scott and his wife Hallie, of Smithfield, Va.; her grandson, R. Bradley Scott, of Arizona; and her two granddaughters, Christine M. Rule of Georgia and Kerry M. Minor, of Michigan.
Cremation has taken place at PCS entrusted to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home.
Memorial services will be conducted at 5:30 p.m. Monday, May 5, 2008, at St. John's Episcopal Church with Father Scott A. Ruthven officiating.
Should friends desire, memorial contributions rather than flowers may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church, 1114 Indiana Ave., Alamogordo, NM 88310 in accordance with her wishes.
Cremation will take place locally at PCS entrusted to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home.
