Gregory Anthony "Tony" Salas Obituary
Gregory Anthony "Tony" Salas, United States Army, 27, went to spend eternal life with his saving grace, the Lord our God, on Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, in Temple, Texas. He was born Aug. 22, 1984, in Kanab, Utah, to Danney Salas and Adrianne Rodriguez Salas. He grew up in Alamogordo where he attended school and graduated from Alamogordo High School in 2002.
Gregory Anthony's life was too short for him to fulfill his dreams. However, Tony lived every day to the fullest. He led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. He enjoyed music, running, sleeping late and hanging out with friends. His gentle smile and caring attitude touched the hearts of those around him and there was never a person who wasn't his friend.
There will never be a day that goes by that we do not think of our son. We miss you, Tony, with all our hearts, and you will never be forgotten.
Tony is survived by his loving parents, Danney and Adrianne Salas; brothers Danois Salas and his wife, Monica, from Albuquerque, and Ramon Salas and his wife, Leann, from Okinawa, Japan; five nieces, Allissa, Andrea, Malina, Alliyah and Alannah; one nephew, Anthony Luis; his godparents Nancy Kimbrell and Ceasar Ray Salas; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Regodio, and Guadalupe Rodriguez and paternal grandparents Danois and Andrea Salas.
Rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011, at St. Jude Catholic Church in San Patrico by Porfiria Vinn. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at the church following the rosary at 9:30 a.m. with Deacon Jack Shuster, celebrant.
Interment will follow at Picacho Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011, at Alamogordo Funeral Home, 2301 First St., Alamogordo.
