Hila Jeanette Ray Obituary
Hila Jeanette Ray passed away peacefully at home with loved ones by her side on March 16, 2018.
Jeanie was born March 12, 1938 in Pittsford, Vermont, the daughter of William and Hila Davenport. She graduated from Pittsford High School in 1957. In 1961 she married the love of her Life, the late James Albert Ray.
Jeanie traveled the United States extensively with Jim, a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. She loved the desert southwest and was delighted to have Jim's last assignment to Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico. They made Alamogordo their home and made many friends that quickly became family.
Jeanie was best known for her great sense of humor and her bright red hair. She loved to ride her three wheeled bicycle throughout her neighborhood and visit the Senior Center almost daily. She loved her Roses and tomato plants and most of all her unique Teddy Bear collection.
Jeanie is survived by her sister Rebecca Davenport of Vermont, her brother William Davenport of Ohio, and her dear friends Chris and Doreen Padilla of Alamogordo, New Mexico.
Jeanie was a strong woman that never let her challenges stand in the way of experiencing a beautiful life.
