Ignacio "Nacho" Cedillos Obituary
Mr. Ignacio "Nacho" Cedillos, 80, passed away in Alamogordo Monday, Feb. 1, 2010. At the time of his passing to the Lord, Mr. Cedillos was surrounded by his loving family.
Ignacio Cedillos was born in Alamogordo on Jan. 1, 1930, to Ignacio and Lupe (Guerra) Cedillos. He moved to Juarez, Mexico, to work as a police officer. In 1952, he met Julia Pacheco and they married on Dec. 1, 1954, and recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary. Ignacio and Julia have resided in Alamogordo since 1956.
Mr. Cedillos worked as a police officer for five years prior to becoming a bricklayer. He worked as a master bricklayer for 38 years prior to retiring in 1993.
Ignacio played with the Alamogordo Tigers (tackle) and took the state championship in 1952.
Mr. Cedillos is survived by his wife, Julia, and three daughters, Patricia Cedillos of Richland, Wash.; Angie Broyles and her husband, Glenn, of Alamogordo; and Christina Livingston and her husband, Theo, of Alamogordo. Survivors also include four grandchildren, Steven Livingston and his wife, Melissa; Ashley Rahn; Samantha Livingston and Serena Cedillos. He is also survived by a sister, Margarita Yacubian, of Alamogordo, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Cedillos was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Daria Flores, and a brother, Juan Guerra.
Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, and Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Bryant Hausfeld, O.F.M., as celebrant.
The family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home to direct the arrangements. Cremation will take place at PCS.
