1916 - 2007 Obituary Condolences
Isabel N. Roessler, 91, the last of her generation, died Friday, Sept. 28, 2007.
A memorial service was held for family and close friends at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, in The Chapel of All Saints Episcopal Church in Fort Worth, Texas. A private family committal will be held in Monte Vista Cemetery in Alamogordo.
Memorials in her memory may be honored with a gift to The WARM Place, 809 Lipscomb St., Fort Worth, Texas, 76104; or Community Hospice of Texas, 6100 Western Place, Suite 500, Fort Worth, Texas, 76107.
Isabel was born Sept. 8, 1916, in Rodeo, the daughter of James B. and Alice Pearl Reed Wells. She met and married Frederick A. Roessler in 1938. Shortly thereafter, Fred joined the Navy and served in the Pacific theater. Upon his return, they moved to Alamogordo, where they were members of St. John's Episcopal Church and enjoyed the Holloman Air Force Base Officers Club. Isabel worked at Jewel's, a shop specializing in ladies' apparel.
Isabel was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Fred Roessler. After Fred died, she moved to Fort Worth to be with her nieces. The last chapter of her life was enriched by many family gatherings and the friendships she made at Broadway Plaza.
Survivors are her sister, Lavena Leatherman; and numerous extended family members, including Fritz Roessler, of Albuquerque, Barbara Greer and her husband, Denis, and Susie Minton, all of Benbrook.
