Israel Pedraza Obituary
Israel Pedraza, 79, passed away Monday, Oct. 10, 2011, in Alamogordo. He was born Thursday, Sept. 29, 1932, in Sugarland, Texas, to Francisco and Refugia (Guerrero) Pedraza.
He retired from the United States Air Force in 1973 as a staff sergeant, having served in Vietnam. He then worked for Kmart and retired from there. He was a member of the Catholic Church.
He is survived by his stepdaughter Susie King and husband, Gary, of Alamogordo; stepson Ernest E. Stogden and wife, Judy, of Tularosa; stepdaughter-in-law Sadie J. Stogden, of Alamogordo; nine stepgrandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Robert Gomez, of Houston; sisters-in-law Lois Pedraza, of Bartonville, Ill., and Anna Pedraza, of New York; nephews Raul Pedraza and wife, Marjorie, of Alamogordo, Arthur Reyna, of Houston, and Richard Pedraza, of Middletown, Calif.; and nieces Gloria Gomez, Norma Gomez, Alice Limas and Cynthia Mendula, all of Houston, Anna Irizarry, of Monroe, N.J., and Rebecca Governale, of Glendale, N.Y.
He was predeceased by his wife, Celia G. (Stogden) Pedraza; two brothers, Robert Pedraza and Raul Pedraza Sr.; and two sisters, Beatrice Gomez and Anita Soliz.
The rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011, at Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home. The funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. with Father Bruce Hausfeld, O.F.M., officiating.
Pallbearers include Julio Quiroz, Fred Quiroz Jr., Brian Quiroz, Andres Quiroz and Emanuel Reyes.
Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery with full military honors by the Holloman Air Force Base Steel Talons Honor Guard.
The Pedraza family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
