Obituary Condolences

J.C. "Red" Manning, 79, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, May 18, 2009. He was born Oct. 14, 1929, in Elysiafield, Texas. A longtime resident of Alamogordo, he worked in the logging industry for 50 years and retired in 2004.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Bobbie Manning, of the family home; a daughter, Retonja Jackson, of San Antonio, Texas; a stepdaughter, Lillie Mae Haynes; three sons, Edward Manning, O'Dell Haynes and Dale Haynes, all of Alamogordo; three brothers, Charles Manning and wife, Rose, and J. D. Manning and wife, Melvin, all of Elysiafield, and Wesley Manning, of Houston; and a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, a son, a daughter, two brothers and three sisters.
Pallbearers will be C.F. Smith, Donnell Bryant, Edward Manning, Charles Manning, Kenneth Woods and James Coulter.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jeffrey Bryant and Donnell D. Bryant.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, May 22, 2009, in the Alamogordo Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Willard Avery officiating.
Interment will follow in Monte Vista Cemetery.
The Manning family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements.
