Jacobo Z. Padilla
Jacobo Z. Padilla, 82, passed away Friday, Dec. 10, 2010, in Alamogordo. He was born in Capitan on Nov. 17, 1928, to Rufino Padilla Sr. and Lupe Zamora. He was preceded in death by his parents Rufino Padilla Sr. and Lupe Zamora; brothers Rufino Padilla Jr. and Perry Zamora; stepfather Epifanio "Barney" Aldaz; his former wife, Connie H. Padilla; daughter-in-law Sandra L. Padilla; and his best friend Mary G. Sandoval, of Alamogordo.
He is survived by his children, Ginger McFarling and husband, Guy "Mac," of Albuquerque; son Ralph Padilla, of Rio Rancho; sister Olita Garcia, of Albuquerque; brothers Joe Aldaz and wife, Barbara "Bobbi," of Carlsbad, and Pat Aldaz, of Lewisville, Texas; sister-in-law Lita Padilla, of Alamogordo; plus nieces and nephews.
Mr. Padilla served his country in the U.S. Army and the Korean War as a combat veteran. Mr. Padilla retired from Holloman Air Force Base in 1979. Mr. Padilla was a well known pool player (Shark) at the Alamo Senior Center, having won many trophies and ribbons in area pool tournaments. Mr. Padilla truly enjoyed his pool buddies and his friends at the Alamo Senior Center. As per Mr. Padilla's request, no services will be held. Cremation has taken place. Interment of cremains will be held at a later date.
