Retired civil service surveyor
James E. "Jim" Cox, 78, of Alamogordo, died Saturday, May 31, 2008, in Alamogordo.
Mr. Cox was born Sept. 17, 1929, in American Falls, Idaho. He was a surveyor for civil service and retired from Holloman Air Force Base.
Survivors include his wife, Margie Cox, of the family home; two sons, Larry Berry and his wife Ethel, of Tularosa, and Larry Dean Cox and his wife Leslie, of Fulton, Mo.; four daughters, Linda Garcia, of Alamogordo, Jan Boots and her husband John, of California, Tammy Cox, of Alamogordo, and Frances "Pud" Greeson and her husband Larvelle, of Phoenix, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Ellis and Janaye (Bissell) Cox.
Funeral services will be conducted today at 2 p.m. in the Hamilton-O'Dell Chapel with James Sears officiating.
Interment will follow in Monte Vista Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dan Berry, Paul Wilcurt, Dusty Day, Cristian Ochoa, Ray Rush Jr., Abe Ochoa and Amanda Morrison.
Services are under the direction of Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home.
