James "Jimmy” Goss Obituary

James 'Jimmy" Goss, 78, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2015 in Weed, New Mexico. He was born on August 18, 1936 in Bear Canyon, New Mexico to Howard Goss and Marion Ehart Goss.

Jimmy was a descendant of early pioneers of the 1900s. He lived his whole life in the Sacramento Mountains where he was totally contented and never left the area, but for a few weeks. He was a man not influenced by others' ideas or opinions. He spoke his "own language" and was fully devoted to his family, his Lord and his community and friends. He passed his opinions on to all of us and "quoted" often to his children and grandchildren. "Ya are, who ya are, now don't forget it."

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Carrie Frances Goss; son, Spike (Kelly) Goss of Weed, NM; three daughters, Karen (John) Braziel, Kendra (Mike) Crnkovic, Kathi (Ken) Baker; granddaughters, Kara (Ry) Cochran and Felicity Braziel; grandsons, Rentz, Kyle (Kandes), Kade and Ky Goss; seven step-grandchildren; great-granddaughter, Paisley and Kensie; Sister, Pansy Northrip of Weed, NM; Brother, Rusty Goss of Hindsville, Ark.; many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Marion Isabel Goss, father, Howard Lee Goss, brother, John Lee Goss and sister, Sue Goss.

The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, July 9, 2015, at Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home Chapel.
The funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2015 at Weed Community Center with Charles Walker, Eddy Coleman and Cuoy Griffin officiating. A burial will follow at Ehart Cemetery.
Pallbearers include: Kyle Goss, Kade Goss, Alton Munson, Gary Stone, Dub Cox, Pete Griffin, Warren Miles, Jake VanWinkle, Bill Dees, Hollis Munson and Billy Weddle. Honorary pallbearers are his many friends.

Should friends desire, contributions may be made to Otero County Cattleman's Association.

The Goss family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home to direct the services.
