James Ogden Watson Obituary
James Ogden Watson, 62
James Ogden Watson, 62, met his Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 3, 2010. He was born Feb. 25, 1948, in Philadelphia and was afforded the opportunity to live throughout the United States and South America. He attended San Marcos Military Academy and graduated from Lincoln High School in Costa Rica. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert O. Watson in 1970 and Lois (Craft) Watson in 2005. He is survived by his children James Ogden Watson II, of Cloudcroft, Greg Rowley, of Stansbury Park, Utah, Deanne Mckinney and husband, Aldron, of Portales, Gwendolyn L. Rawlins and husband, Justin, of Canyon, Texas, Sarah Heimann, of Texas, and Chad Reilly, of Arizona; three stepchildren, Thomas Harris, Krystal Harris and Cherie Harris; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; and "longtime" brother David Bris.
Jim lived in Alamogordo for many years and was a salesman for several companies, but was self-employed at the time of his death. Jim will always be remembered as "Grandpa Duck," the name coined by his grandchildren. His Donald Duck impressions brought joy to many adults, as well as children. His greatest attribute was his willingness to allow God to work through him to help others. Daddy loved animals and left behind his constant companions, his two dogs and two horses. We will see you again someday, in a heavenly place where there is no parting. A place where there are no words that mean good-bye.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 15, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Alamogordo Funeral Home in Alamogordo. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be sent to the or the SPCA in his name.
