In Loving Memory of James T. Washington

On Thursday, October 12, 2017, James T. Washington heard God's whisper calling him home. He gave his hand to God and slowly drifted away, knowing that with our love we will be together again someday.

James Washington, affectionately called "Jim" was born March 25, 1933 to Leroy and Jennie Mae Washington in Capels, West Virginia. He married Esther V. Boone on Aug 18, 1955 in Hampton, Virginia and together they raised 3 sons. Jim was a loving and dedicated husband and father and believed in strong family ties. He was a long standing and faithful member of Corinth Baptist Church.

Jim proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 23 years and retired at the rank of Master Sergeant. During his military service he received the Air Force Longevity Service Award, Air Force Good Conduct Medal and National Defense Service Medal. Jim was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. After his military service, he continued to serve his country as an Industrial Engineering Technician with the United States federal government. He retired from his Civil Service career after serving 26 years.

James leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of 62 years, Esther Washington;
three sons, James B. Washington of Moreno Valley CA (Wendy), Kenneth J. Washington of Camas,WA (Athena), Gordon R. Washington of Alamogordo, NM (Veranda); three grandchildren, Adrienne Fitzpatrick, Carlin Washington, Onjelle Washington; a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

The Viewing will be held October 21, 2017 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Corinth Baptist Church,
400 Delaware, Alamogordo, NM immediately followed by the Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. at the same location. The interment service will be at Monte Vista Cemetery, 1590 E. First Street, Alamogordo.

The Washington family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
