Janet Cozzens Obituary

Jane was born Aug. 18, 1940, in Carrizozo to Seymour McKinley (Primo) Cozzens and Sallie Jane Goode. Jane taught school in various places in New Mexico, and retired from Alamogordo Public Schools due to poor health in the early 1990s after teaching 26 years. She was very instrumental in the early start of "Jump Rope for Heart" with Alamogordo students ranking in the top tier across New Mexico. She thoroughly enjoyed teaching elementary school P.E., children's basic skills needed for a lifetime of activity. She was an accomplished card maker and scrap booker. Jane spent many enjoyable hours in these activities in her retirement years. All of her family and friends were honored to receive one of her handmade cards.
She loved her family dearly and was the guiding force in organizing and keeping our family reunions going.
