Janet Elaine Johnson Obituary

Janet Elaine Johnson was born May 11, 1933 to the late Chauncey N. and Stella Marie Johnson. She graduated from Tippecanoe High School.

She was preceded by her husband of 43 years Lt Col Glenn E Johnson. They spent 37 years with the Air Force, and loved every minute of the experience.

She was a homemaker and raised three daughters Julia (Jimmy) Owens, Fort Worth, Texas, Judi (Ben) Streepey, Nicholasville, KY and Jann (Al) Cure Winnsboro, Texas. She had 12 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her three brothers Jack (Mildred), Bruce (Muriel) and Dan (Cassa).

Janet never met a stranger and was great at keeping in touch with the many friends as they traveled around. Glenn and Janet retired to Alamogordo, NM, but after Glenn's death moved closer to family. She was active in the United Methodist Church as they moved around. She was president of UMW at Grace, and truly enjoyed helping young couples with their wedding receptions.

She died peacefully in her sleep in her apartment at Hartland Hills in Lexington, Kentucky.

She will be buried Friday, December 1, at Ft Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso, Texas with her husband, Glenn. There will be a memorial service at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 2, at Grace UMC in Alamogordo, New Mexico.
